Duane Lecky joined St. John the Divine and the 11 o’clock choir in 1999. He grew up in the Roman and Ukrainian rites of the Catholic Church. He taught in secular and Catholic schools. He currently works in the IT industry as a technical architect in the BC public service. He and his husband Murray raised two boys, Justin and Julian. He has undergraduate degrees in chemistry and computer science and an MA in leadership. Shortly after joining St. John’s, Duane set up the first parish web site at the request of the rector, Harold Munn. Duane still holds the title webmaster, but now there is a small team of people supporting not only the website itself, but Twitter, Facebook, and podcasts. When Justin and Julian were old enough, they and Duane became altar servers together. Duane still continues in this role as coordinator and crucifer.
