A simple glimpse of the Divine today in something everyday yet profound
The light of a candle is small but powerful, in lighting a candle the darkness is always pushed back - not that darkness is bad in itself - darkness and shadow is what gives depth and texture and colour to life.
I find the fact that no matter how hard we stare at a candle it is never the same light moment after moment very moving, and it's something I can sit and reflect on for hours. Ever changing, ever moving, ever dynamic in its own way. For me that's a glimpse of the God of Small Things.
"Let your light so shine before all, that they may see your good works and give thanks to your Father who is in Heaven" Matthew 5.16
