Today's reflection is a very personal one, based on a napkin.
This is from a wedding that I was privileged to offer a blessing at in 2019 - of Jordan and Don, two people deeply in love with each other who were committed to one another completely. It is one of the many weddings I have either officiated at or offered a blessing for, and wasn't my first same-gendered wedding, and I hope it will not be my last!
Weddings are a place where I see the God of Small Things - shown in the exchange of rings, the joining of hands, the saying of a few words, all of which points to so much more behind all of those actions and words. As we seek where the Divine may be found this Advent, we often need look no further than the love of those who share our lives.
"God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them." 1 John 4.16
