Born and raised on beautiful Vancouver Island, Stephanie spend 21 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse working for Island Health Authority. In 2014 she left her nursing practice to explore a call to ordained ministry. During Stephanie’s discernment she discovered her passion for pastoral care and supporting people in their spiritual and emotional growth. A graduate of Vancouver School of Theology, Stephanie has recently completed a Spiritual Care Residency for Providence Health Authority and is preparing for certification as a Spiritual Care Practitioner.
While Stephanie’s previously planned ordination to the diaconate was postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis, before his retirement, the bishop authorized her to act in the manner of a deacon and curate until such time that her ordination can be rescheduled. Stephanie was ordained to the diaconate on September 12, 2021 by The Right Reverend Anna Greenwood Lee.
Effective June 1, 2020, Stephanie has been appointed Assistant Curate to St. John the Divine and will serve the parish for the next two years. Her primary role will be to assist the incumbent, Alastair McCollum in worship planning and sermon preparation, preaching, parish and hospital visiting, and to continue her formation to priestly ministry.
Stephanie’s personal interests include horseback riding, gardening, cooking and hosting fun, lively dinner parties, and socializing with good friends and family. Stephanie has a joyful disposition and is quick to offer a smile to everyone she encounters. She feels humbled and blessed to be a part of serving the community of the Anglican Church of St. John the Divine.
