Born and raised in England, Canada is very much Alastair's adopted home now, having moved to Victoria to take up the role of incumbent at St John's in 2013. He is a motorcyclist, avid reader, lover of Star Trek, guitars, and single malt whisky. Interests include decolonialisation studies, theology, postmodernity, philosophy, social justice, spirituality and the affirmation of the diverse sexual and gender expression of human experience. He has been privileged to serve on the Diocesan Council, Provincial Synod, and General Synod within the Anglican Church of Canada, and enjoys being in leadership in a community which is affirming, welcoming, passionately committed to justice, and an beacon of liturgical and spiritual exploration within the Anglican tradition.
Along with being the Incumbert at St. John the Divine, Alastair is one of the archdeacons for the Diocese of Islands and Inlets (British Columbia).
