As part of our Discovery Sessions for exploring Community Safety & Well-Being at St. John the Divine, Rethink Urban presents:
The Relationship Between Human Health, the Environment (Built & Natural) & the Healthy Community Approach with Dr. Trevor Hancock
Register on Eventbrite to receive the Zoom link for this free event.
Dr. Trevor Hancock is a public health physician, health promotion consultant and retired in 2018 from his role as Professor and Senior Scholar at the School of Public Health and Social Policy at the University of Victoria. His main areas of interest are population health promotion, healthy cities and communities, public health, healthy public policy, environment and health, healthy and ‘green’ hospitals, health policy and planning, and health futurism (Bio).
Dr. Hancock has a long-standing interest in the relationship between health and the natural and built environment. Together, we’ll explore how planned Healthy Built Environments (HBE) demonstrate positive impact on people’s physical, mental, and social health. HBE is an integral part of Rethink Urban’s transdisciplinary Full Spectrum Community Safety & Well-Being approach to address complex community concerns.
Since retiring he has established Conversations for a One Planet Region and is one of the founders of the (now global) Healthy Cities and Communities movement. Learn more here.
We look forward to what is expected to be a most informative and relevant topic for all people connected to St. John the Divine. See you there!
