We begin our observance of the weekdays of Holy Week with a simple service of Holy Communion which has a particular emphasis on self-examination and penitence. As a symbol of our turning away from that which is harmful to us and others, and letting go of those things which we regret we will be invited to sprinkle a little incense on some coals.
