Sculpture of Hope by artist and designer Steuart Padwic - more details on this and other pieces in the Hope Triptych here
This award winning sculpture was erected in Glasgow for the COP26 conference on climate change in 2021 - according to the Cast Stone Association who gave it an 'Excellence in use of Cast Stone' award in 2023":
The Hope Sculpture is located in the woodland park area of Cuningar Loop in Glasgow. The cast stone age-gender-and race-neutral child at the top of the 20m high columns, poignantly reaches out for a more sustainable future. From an article which can be found here
This image of a child reaching out to a possible, hopeful, sustainable future is one which offers a prophetic word to us all, both in recognition of the need to amend out attitude to the planet and to one another and to steward rather than strip the earth, and also the poignancy that there is still hope, if we will make the changes needed, for human life to continue and to flourish. Hope is not just optimism, but a recognition of a need to change direction and set new goals for the well-being of humanity and the earth.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7.14
